Captain America: The First Avenger (2011)

“Captain America: The First Avenger” 2011 TRAILER

Marvel has given us Spiderman,Thor, Iron Man, and now Captain America, laying the foundations for The Avengers, which is coming out in the summer of 2012.

Captain America: The First Avenger is not an action flick about revenge, heroism, or superpowers.  It is the story of a little man with a big heart who brings a new level of patriotism to the Big Screen, showing us the true meaning of making sacrifices for our country.

We fully embrace the characters, experiencing what they go through at such an intimate level, bringing us into a profound level of understanding what it means to be the underdog, unable to protect and serve.

Chris Evans is Steve Rogers, a scrawny boy who dons the mantle of responsibility and transforms into a symbol of the American spirit, or at least what it was.  Hayley Atwell is Peggy Carter, completing the onscreen duo with palpable chemistry and attraction.

Captain America is not about superpowers, it is not about Hitler, it is not even about America.

Captain America is about love, duty, and loss.  Captain America is about being human.

“Captain America: The First Avenger” is a 8.5/10
